Silent Scream, 2022
12” x 16” x 0.5”
Mixed Media: Acrylic Paint, Photographic Print, Thread, and Plaster on Canvas $325
Silent Scream reflects a period of profound emotional isolation and inner turmoil. At this point in the Hermit’s journey, there was a desire to scream—to release the weight of unspoken thoughts, pain, and frustration—but it felt as though no one could hear. The louder the internal struggle became, the less visible it seemed to those around. Ironically, it was only when the Hermit became completely silent that others noticed.
This work explores the tension between being unheard and being seen, revealing how absence, withdrawal, and silence can sometimes communicate more powerfully than words ever could. It is a reflection on solitude, resilience, and the paradox that silence often speaks the loudest.
This work began in 2022 and was completed in 2026, reflecting the realities of interruption, survival, displacement, and return. A proof that creation can survive fragmentation.
