"I had to find a way to let my art live on, and what better way than to create on living canvases." - The Hermit
The art of tattooing required that The Hermit mature as an individual with a deeper sense of confidence and certainty, despite her circumstances. Body art is worn with permanence. Though it can be altered or even removed, it will always leave its mark.
The Hermit sought an apprenticeship and stepped beyond the comfort of the familiar in search of a way to memorialize her work—to give her art the chance to live on. She longed for her art to exist beyond the walls of a studio, to be carried through the lives of others rather than left waiting to be discovered.
Through tattooing, she has met people whose paths she might never have crossed otherwise. Together, they have shared intimate stories, lived experiences, grief, joy, healing, and hope.
Through body art, The Hermit's works live vicariously through others. They travel places she may never go, witness moments she may never see, and become part of stories still being written. Her art is no longer abandoned or left behind. It always has a home beneath the skin of those who welcomed it.
Tattooing is built upon mutual trust, and she honors that trust by carefully transforming ideas, memories, and emotions into living works of art. Every piece is a collaboration, breathing with the life of the person who carries it.
Tattooing is more than a profession—it is a way of life. Body art deserves complete attention, thoughtful preparation, and unwavering respect, for it is an honor to create through the blood sacrifice. Every mark is made with intention, knowing it will accompany someone through the unfolding chapters of their life.
Perhaps, someday, their paths will cross again. Until then, each tattoo continues to grow with the life that carries it, reminding both artist and collector that art was never meant to be kept—it was meant to be lived.
