The Hermit Art Studio is a private, curated creative workspace. Artist residency is by application and invitation.
The studio is intentionally limited to artists who demonstrate exceptional professionalism, artistic integrity, and respect for the creative environment. Renting a station does not guarantee continued residency. The Hermit Art reserves the right to decline or terminate residency if an artist no longer aligns with the studio's standards or values.
Conveniently located on California Oaks Road in Murrieta, California, the studio offers a private, distraction-free setting with no regular walk-in traffic, allowing artists to fully focus on their craft. All studio visits are by appointment only.
Artist Requirements:
Licensing & Compliance - Every artist must:
Hold a current Riverside County Body Art Practitioner Permit.
Maintain a current Bloodborne Pathogens certification.
Provide proof of Hepatitis B vaccination or a signed declination form.
Notify The Hermit Art immediately if their practitioner registration expires, is suspended, or changes.
Cleanliness & Infection Control - Artists must:
Follow all California Safe Body Art Act requirements.
Use only single-use, sterile needles and supplies unless otherwise permitted by law.
Properly dispose of sharps and contaminated waste.
Disinfect their workstation before and after every client.
Never reuse disposable items.
Maintain OSHA-compliant infection control practices.
Professional Conduct - Artists are expected to:
Maintain professionalism at all times.
Respect client confidentiality.
Never discriminate against clients.
Maintain a clean appearance and workspace.
Be punctual.
Communicate respectfully with other artists and guests.
Studio Standards - The Hermit Art is intended to be a quiet, intentional creative space. Artists agree to:
Keep music at a respectful volume.
Maintain a calm, welcoming atmosphere.
Leave all common areas clean after use.
Respect the privacy of clients.
No unauthorized guests.
Client Care - Each artist is responsible for:
Client consultation
Medical history review
Informed consent
Photography consent (optional)
Aftercare instructions
Maintaining client records
Grounds for Immediate Termination - The Hermit Art reserves the right to terminate a rental agreement for:
Expired permits or certifications.
Unsafe tattooing practices.
Violations of health regulations.
Illegal activity.
Harassment or discrimination.
Non-payment of rent.
Behavior that compromises the studio's reputation or safety.
Social Media - Artists may promote their work but should:
Credit The Hermit Art Studio when appropriate.
Maintain professionalism online.
Avoid posting confidential client information.
Supplies - The studio provides only agreed-upon shared amenities. Each artist supplies their own:
Tattoo machines, Pigments, Needles, PPE, Barrier film, Medical supplies, Specialty equipment
Payments - Each artist is responsible for: Scheduling, Deposits, Payment collection, Taxes, Business licensing (if applicable)
